General information about us

The Moro People's Cummunity Organization for Reform and Empowerment Inc. (Moro PCORE), a NON-GOVERNMENT organization registered with the Philippines' Securities and Exchange Commission (No.CN201111296) on July 11, 2011 based in Kabacan North Cotabato of Mindanao located at Southern Philippines.

The Moro PCORE is a dream that came into reality by a group of young professionals in Kabacan with the hope that could influence and impel social change in the municipality. Guided with a principle of people's empowerment for self-liberation and economic sustainability, Moro PCORE came into reality with the assistance from its sister organization, the People's CORE based in Los Angeles which is also federally registered as 401 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization. The latter provided the Moro People's CORE with initial seed money for its Operation.

With the mission of reaching out, educating and training, organizing and mobilizing the Moro and the Lumads so as to create systematic change in the communities, the organization has initially identified the Municipality of Kabacan as its pilot area for the implementation of its initial activities. More specifically, the barangays of Cuyapon and Pisan were identified and considered as its barangays for the initial interventions.

These barangays were identified through community integration and series of consultations with the Local Government Unit of Kabacan, NGOS and groups with previous interventions in the barangays, previous studies and secondary data.

Vision, Mission & Goals

Vision

A Moro people's homeland which is self determining and selfgoverming where the people exercise their.own cultural, and traditional practices without prejudice; people are primary beneficiary of their homeland's natural and mineral resources; people live with human dignity and respect without their rights violated; women's and childern's rights are protected and upheld; the right to affordable health services and education; and the implementation of genuine land reform and national industrialization in the national level.

Mission

Reach out, educate and train, organize and mobilize the Moro and the Lumads in creating systematic change.

Goals

  1. To produce a progressive and critical community leaders who genuinely serve the interest and welfare of the community.
  2. To promote good working relationship with like-minded domestic and international organizations for mutual benefit, cooperation and support.
  3. To create progressive and dynamic communities that promotes and practice cultural sensitivity.
  4. To uplift the economic condition, raise political and sociocultural awareness of the Moro, Lumad and the community in general.
